Dr. Samar Aziz
Executive Director
Samar is the co-founder & executive director of Sabil USA, CEO of DZ Pharmacy Management, Inc., public speaker, youth mentor, and an advocate for the underprivileged and homeless, predominantly in Orange County, CA. In 2012, Samar Aziz co-founded SABIL USA, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the underprivileged, homeless, and refugee populations in California
Sahar Aziz, MBA
Treasurer
Sahar is co-founder of Sabil USA, where she serves as Treasurer, and contributes in many ways, including organizing food distributions at Sabil USA’s food pantry. She holds an MBA and has professional experience in banking, auditing, and teaching. She served on the New Horizon Los Angeles Board and the New Horizon Executive Board for years.Sahar also founded Islam4Families and has published several children’s books.
Azeez Malley
President
Previous to Sabil USA, for 15 years he served on the boards of Access CA, CAIR, and as President of ICOI. He came to a Sabil USA food distribution for the underprivileged. During that distribution, an elderly client kept praying for him for giving her $20 worth of groceries and that changed his outlook. He now serves as Vice President of Sabil USA and in his free time loves to golf and spend time with his family.
Dr. Randa Serag
Board Member
Randa is a physician and earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins. She completed her academic residency training at UCLA Medical Center. She is an internist with Hoag Medical Group in Irvine, CA. She has served on the board of ICOI and as president of the board. She used to volunteer with Sabil in the early days and then became an active member to support Sabil’s vision.
Naziha Wareh
Board Member, Mental Health
She has volunteered with Islamic Relief and Helping Hands in humanitarian projects and served as board member of several interfaith committees. She has also served as a board member of the Shura Council. She is passionate about serving her community and mental health is a very dear cause for her and now she serves as Chair for Sabil USA’s Mental Health and Wellness Program.
Hussam Darwish
Board Member
Hussam is Chief Executive Officer La Dolce Vitae and is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He has been serving on the board of Sabil USA since 2013 as Director of the Food Pantry. He is passionate about the mission of Sabil USA of bringing resources to the underprivileged because he believes everyone deserves to live in dignity.
Sayeda Hotaki, MPH
Secretary
Sayeda Hotaki is an explorer and a lifelong curious student by nature. Sayeda graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the California State University of Fullerton and completed a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Southern California. She works in clinical research on Alzheimer’s and depression.
Hussein Elhady
Board Member
Hussein Elhady is a Regional Resource Manager with over 16 years of experience in engineering and project management.He received an Engineering Degree from the University of Alabama in 2006 and later earned an MBA from Mercer University in 2013.Since moving to Irvine in 2019, Hussein and his family have volunteered regularly with Sabil. Participating in monthly distribution events has become a cherished family tradition. He firmly believes that choosing to spend time in the service of others is an incredibly rewarding activity and one of the greatest lessons that we can teach our children. Sabil provides a platform to help the local community while bringing together a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers.
Shaykh Jamaal Diwan
Spiritual Advisor
He accepted Islam in 2003 and then served as a religious teacher and instructor in Southern California and later became the Resident Scholar at the Islamic Center of Irvine.He continues to serve the community through his work at The Majlis, teaching multiple classes a week and supporting its various programs. Currently he also serves as the Islamic Studies Teacher at New Horizon Irvine Islamic School for grades 4-8.
Mahjuba Mansoory
Refugee Advisor
Mahjuba was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and migrated to the United States in 1986. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Cal State Northridge and her master degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University.
